Ed Mattern: Hi! I am Ed Mattern with Interstate Worldwide Relocation. Today we are talking to you about how to plan for your move.

Now, we are going to tell you what you need to know about delivery at destination and settling into your new home.

First, you want to be sure that you are at your home when the crew arrives.

Next, you want to conduct a pre-delivery walkthrough with the crew, identifying the location of the large furniture items that they will be delivering into your new home. You also want to identify the bathroom that the crew will be using during the moving process, and the final payment of your move, unless the move was prepaid, as well as any unpacking services that you may have purchased at this time.

Next, if an inventory was performed, you will need to check off and/or initial for each item as it is unloaded and the number is called off by the crew. After delivery is finished, you want to review the inventory and other documents for completeness and ensure that you get all the copies that you are entitled to.

Here are some tips for organizing your items at destination. Think about, if you had a basement at your former residence and you no longer have a basement, if the names of the rooms have changed, items that may be changing room location because of room size, don't forget to set aside several days for the unpacking of your household goods.

I hope these tips have been helpful and good luck with your move.
