Resume expert Louise Kursmark discusses how to avoid sounding repetitous in your resume.

Host: If I have held similar jobs in the past, will it sound repetitious on my resume?

Louise Kursmark: If you use the approach for you are listing your job duties on your resume and not much else and you had two or three jobs that were similar in job title and scope then certainly it is going to be repetitious and it's going to be boring and it is going to make it look like you didn't advance in your career and that's not really a positive message.

There are several things you can do a case, you might group them together under one heading and show off three, listed one after the other with the timeline for each and then use one summary job description that would work pretty well or you can take the approach that I am going to describe the job description, I am just going to describe the accomplishments and the events and the activities in the success of that position and of course that would be unique for every position, you are not going to have any reputation if you focus on accomplishment when writing your resume.
