Terry Dean: Hi, I am Terry Dean from Terry Deans Dance Studio. Today we are going to be teaching you the awing. Swing is an American fun dance that was one of the most popular dances and it is always going to be I believe. It is one of those dances that came to about being around the late 30s, early 40s and it has been around ever since and will always be. It is a great wonderful fun dance. The music is fun and it is lively. I have been teaching it for 30 years and it is one of those dances, whenever the swing comes on, everybody gets up on the floor and has a great time doing it all around the world.
It is a great fun dance, and remember though, it is a very athletic dance, so you have to make sure that you are in good shape so you want to get yourself stretched out, there is some cardiovascular work because it is physical. Remember, dancing is always is physical, even though it might seem like a fun exercise, it is a lot of work, so you got to get your body in shape, and anyway we are going to start off with the basic components of the swing and then we will go from there.
