Car expert Jumi Kim demonstrates how to turn off the engine and park a stick shift car.

Jumi Kim: Hi, I am Jumi of Capital Dream Cars. I have been showing you how to drive a manual transmission car. Now, I am going to show you how to turn off the engine and park a stick shift vehicle. Some vital points to remember. Remember that in a stick vehicle to always press the brake, if you are in neutral or the clutch is depressed, otherwise you will roll. Remember in a stick shift car to always use a parking brake, otherwise the car may roll, even when the engine is off. As an added measure of safety, you should always leave a manual transmission car in gear when it's parked so if you are on a hill with the nose pointing up, you should leave it in first gear to prevent rolling backward or if your nose is pointing down you might want to leave it in reverse to prevent the car from rolling.
