Roger Bennett Riggle, licensed, professional make-up artist, provides an overview of how to create vampire Halloween makeup including how to color the hair.

Roger Bennett Riggle: I am Roger Bennett Riggle and we are doing a vampire transformation today. We are at the stage now where I want to paint his hair black and that's easily done with a colored hair spray and this is black hair spray. So we are just going to spray his hair. The only thing is I have to be a little bit careful about about where I spray it so that I don't get it on his ears and the makeup that I have already applied. So I just take a paper towel and fold it around his ears.

This washes out with a single wash in the shower, so you can wear it for just one night. This also helps to hold the fake hair that I put in at the top of his head. I am going to hold the can about six inches away from the head and you can see where it is making a much more drastic, menacing look. If you turn to the side, you can see there is his hair. We already gelled it back. It is already dried from the gel and set. So now we just spray it black, we are going to repeat the same process on the other side of Joshuas head and that is how we color the hair to match the fake hair that we have put on.

After I did that I thought of one other nice little touch for our vampire. So I am again going to take my non-latex sponge and I am going to dip in the white cream color and I am going to work a little of the white, into his hair so that we look like we have some grey streaks in the hair. That gives a nice, little personal touch as well to your vampire. Make sure you start at the root of the hair, right along the hairline and then pull through and it gives you a much more realistic look. We will do the other side quickly, so I am going to pull it right from the root and into the hair. Next, I want to put a little bruise coloring on our vampire bites and we will finish with some final touches.
