Host: What are some pros and cons of office relationships?
Toni Coleman: Well, the obvious pro to it would be that it is very easy and convenient. I mean, what a great way to meet somebody. You spend so much of your time at work especially today with people spending way more than 40 hours in their work week. It is often staying late at night, going in on weekends so it is very convenient. You will share the same environment and understand when each other has to work overtime or share the same kinds of maybe interests because of the type of work that you do.
Those are all big, big pluses and it just makes it a whole lot easier and very often you have the same circle of friends as a result of that work environment. Some of the cons would be that you do spend a lot of time together and if you are actually working together and you are responsible for work product together and you are having this relationship outside of work and any relationship is going to have its rough patches not having that, then interfere with your working day. Again, setting those boundaries and keeping those things separate is very important and a problem. The other obvious potential problem there is if the relationship, the romance does not work out and you have to continue working together and then how do you deal with that, how do you deal with not only what is going on between the two of you but everybody around you there. Two sense that they are putting in their feelings about the whole thing so it is a little tricky or could be potentially difficult.
