Host: What are some things to keep in mind when meeting people at work?
Gloria MacDonald: There are specific challenges if you meet somebody at work. Lots of companies have policies against dating somebody in the workplace and of course, it can be really touchy to be dating a client or if you are in management and you are dating somebody who is an employee or if you are the employee and dating a boss. Those things really create dicey situations. So things to be aware of, obviously, your workplace, depending upon what type of environment you work in. If you are a teacher then you are for the most part around a lot of women and if you are a woman looking for a man, then that's not going to help you a lot. So it depends upon if you are work in a male dominated industry or a female dominated industry or if it is really a mixed environment. So workplace can provide you with lots of opportunities, but and obviously, you don't have to pay for anything and generally speaking, you get to know the person first so there is a level of security and comfort, but the repercussions can be dicey if the relationship doesn't work out and you are still working together. So things just to be aware of and also it is really important to be aware of your company policy on that.
