Host: What are the most common causes of depression?
Dr. Kim Penberthy: That's a very good question. Again, we know that it's usually, a multitude of problems or causes that cause depression. So it is genetic. A lot of times you see it running in families, it can be environmental. What I have mentioned before are the environmental stresses such as work stress and your personal stress, loss, we also know that a history of childhood abuse or neglect can cause long-term symptoms of depression. Again, medical conditions can cause depression.
