Pet adoption expert Michelle Otis discusses what comes in a typical adoption packet.

Host: What comes in a typical adoption packet?

Michelle Otis: Adoption packets will include local contacts for trainers, pet stores, groomers, anything pet related that you might need in the future. Most shelters will let you know what your resources are in your area, in your adoption packet and they will also give you basic information on crate training, on first aids potentially, ways to help facilitate a transition into your new home, how to introduce your dog to your new home, to your current dog and maybe even to your cat, but again, it really depends on your own personal lifestyle and your own personal situation, your adoption counselor can add materials that are going to be specific to you.
