Wendy Reinhardt Kapsak: Salads can be great lunch options. The thing about salads is a lot of people sometimes say that they just dont feel filled up afterwards. Couple of things to think about and to consider having to your salad to make it more filling. There is two things in a lot of our diets that we could be taking better advantage of, one is protein, two is fiber. Most of us get enough proteins, but many of us dont get enough fiber. Adding a lot of fresh vegetables on your salad is a great way to increase the fiber and also that fiber helps you feel a little full for a longer period of time. But it doesnt stop there. Another idea is starting with fiber, but in also good sources of protein. Beans, garbanzo beans, great to add to your salad, provide a little more texture, fun as well and also nuts. Dont forget is to about some grilled chicken, adding some meat to your salad makes it a meal. So adding some protein, fiber, some grilled chicken along the way definitely can make that salad keep you full longer.
