Host: What does time management have to do with healthy eating?
Wendy Reinhardt Kapsak: Time management has everything to do with healthy eating, in my private practice before we even start talking about what to eat, we start talking about when. When will you make time to start eating healthy? When will you make time to maybe get a little bit more physical activity in your day? When will you make time to go to the grocery store and maybe have a few items in your desk that you can have on hand should you be caught in a situation where there are just no other healthy options around? Time management has everything to do with starting a diet plan and sticking to it. I often suggest that people get a calendar, a calendar with 15 minute increments and what we do as we look at the entire day, Sunday to Saturday and we mark out all the times where we are busy, where we are at the office, our commute time, time fixing dinner, time for your an extra evening class. We pick out all the times where there is non-negotiable, non-negotiable time I cant change that. Then we start finding spaces, spaces where we could maybe be making different choices either physical activity, going grocery shopping or even planning ahead for the next day because as most of us know your schedule is not always predictable.
