Florist Gerry Rogers discusses what happens after your florist consultation.

Gerry Rogers: Hi, My name is Gerry and I am with Petal's Edge Floral Design in Alexandria, Virginia. I am here talking with you today about how to choose the right flowers for your wedding? The next series of question that I will be answering has to do with hiring that florist that you will ultimately use.

Host: What happens after my florist consultation?

Gerry Rogers: During the consultation, you will have talked about what your needs are? What sorts of things you are looking for? Your taste in flowers, things you like and dislike and after that meeting the florist will generally prepare a proposal for you that will have itemized cost, descriptions of arrangements and flowers that might be used and they will send that to you in a variety of forms. Nowadays, a lot of people will e-mail those proposals but some people will write them on the spot or mail them to you in the mail and that proposal will also typically have a contract attached that you should read carefully so that you understand all of the cost for your flowers.
