Pet adoption expert Michelle Otis discusses what to do if you don’t see the dog you’re looking for at a shelter or rescue.

Host: What if I don't see the dog I am looking for at a shelter or rescue?

Michelle Otis: Keep looking, you will find the dog that you are looking for at a shelter or with the rescue group. Get online, you can check your surrounding areas as well. There are national organizations, rescue organizations, there are shelters in every community so, you can go to different websites and you can cover your entire state if you want to, but with the number of the animals in our country that need homes, it is guaranteed, that eventually, you will find what you are looking for in a shelter. You just have to stay with it and be patient, but over a quarter of sheltering animals are pure bred so even if you are looking for a pure bred dog, you can and will find it in a shelter. You just have to stick to it.
