Dean of Admissions Andrew Battaile explains the importance of keeping grades up even after acceptance into a private high school.

Andrew Battaile : Hi I am Andrew Battaile, the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Gonzaga College High School in Washington D.

    C. Now that you have applied and your child has been accepted to a private high school, here is how to get readyHost: What if my child's grades go down after they are accepted?

Andrew: Almost always an acceptance to a high school, a private high school is conditional. If your son and daughter in eight grade think that they are on easy street after they get an acceptance, they have another thing coming, if their grades go down. That can be very bad news. It has happened that a student whose grades plummet after being accepted, has then not been accepted. So, make sure that your son or your daughter does the work in the second semester of eight grade year. We have all been through that experience, where you are excited for the future, just make sure that they finish the present.
