Host: What is the significance of a deadline?
Gary Ryan Blair: I think a deadline is probably one of the greatest inventions that is ever been made for this reason. If you look at your credit card bills, it requires to pay them within a given period of time and I ask people, that pref as the question this way, if your credit card bill, mortgage statement, if your cars loans anything did not come with a deadline and did not come with a consequence associated with that deadline, would you pay it? Overwhelmingly most people say, no we would not and I wonder if I pay it myself. The fact is what a deadline does, it forces you to perform within a given period of time. So it is a tool, a strategic tool that helps you to perform on demand and it's used everywhere. It is used for your mortgage, it is used for car loans, it is used for hotel checkout times, it is used for job service hours, it is used for every, every really everything in life that requires an outcome to take place.
Unfortunately the vast majority of people, they get it rash and or they get upset when they think about the word deadline. It has a lot to do with your association. What I mean by association, when people think about deadline it gives them stress, they get uncomfortable, they get uneasy and what they have to do is really change the perspective and realize it that deadline is your best friend because as long as you meet it within a given period of time, you are going to be able to acquire the goal that you are looking for.
