Dr. John Schmitt recommends vitamins to take during pregnancy.
Host: What vitamins should a pregnant woman take? Dr. John Schmitt: Again, exactly what I said in terms of trying to get pregnant a good multiple vitamin, prenatal vitamins are a little bit higher in nutrients in it to what the American Dietetic Association says or the requirements for pregnancy which change a little bit, but really, in the American diet most women don't need routine prenatal supplementation except for folic acid. So if there very nauseated and can't necessarily tolerate their prenatal, even some chewable vitamins that have 400 micrograms or more of folic acid are certainly adequate to take in early pregnancy.
