Pet adoption expert Michelle Otis discusses when you should bring your family to adopt a dog.

Host: When should I bring my family to adopt a dog?

Michelle Otis: Bring your family with you every time if you can. Most shelters are going to want to see that the dog interacts with the entire family, they are going to want to see that you have a connection with the dog and you can't find that through bars and through a cage or without spending time with the animal. So bring your whole family if you can. If you can't bring your own family, there is nothing wrong with visiting the shelter to see what they have, but just be prepared to bring everyone in before a final decision at the end.
