Rev. Bill Cochran discusses when the wedding ceremony should be planned.

Host: When should the wedding ceremony be planned?

Rev. Bill Cochran: I believe that you want time to be able to plan the final details of your wedding and so a wedding ceremony should be planned well enough in advance that you dont have to worry about it till the last few days leading up to your wedding. So I like to go with about 30 days out. Now different Officiants will have different ideas, but maybe you should put some input into that as well because it's your wedding. When you think about it you are going to love to maybe do some programs. If you do programs you will want to know what the order of the service is. You certainly dont want to be printing your programs the night before the wedding.

So the sooner you have that information the better off you will be at finishing up some of those last minute touches. A month out I have discovered brides and grooms are quite as tense as they will be a week from the wedding. They are still kind of relaxed and I discovered a month out is just before the final fear catches up with them and so it is a good relaxing time to sit down, talk about every thing, make sure that they have thought through everything and finally have exactly what it is they want.
