Andrew Battaile: Once your son or your daughter is in high school, it's not just an experience only for them. There are ways for parents to be involved as well. It's a good idea to get involved at your childs high school, so that you know their environment. There are always volunteer opportunities, there are events to go to, there are usually mother's and fathers clubs as well and that can be a great way to meet other parents. Make sure you research this with the schools main office and you can find out ways to get involved. Additionally depending on your career or what you do, you might be able to go talk to a class one day and share your experiences of being a guest speaker. Again, it's a good idea to go to the school frequently, show your face, talk to teachers and let your child know that you are involved and that you have a stake in their education as well.
