Joe Brennan: Hi, I am Joe Brennan Jr. from progamer.com and today we are learning how to join Xbox Live. Right now it's finally time to get into a little bit of online multi-player gaming on Xbox Live. So now that we are automatically signed into our brand new Xbox Live account, we are going to go ahead and we are going to add some friends to our friends list, so that we can send them messages, chat with them online and most importantly challenge them to some games on Xbox Live and establish our dominance over them.

So, let's use the left thumb stick on the Xbox controller to go down to the friends list. I currently have no friends. So we are going to have to select on the menu Add a Friend or Contact. Let's go out and search for one of our friends who we already know their own gamertag name. Since we are inviting GODEMPEROR to be part of our friends list. We need to send him a request. So of the menu items let's use the left thumb stick to go down to Send Request, hit the Select A button and we will see that that's pending. As soon as GODEMPEROR accepts that we will be able to play online and chat and send messages back and forth to each other.

So now we were automatically logged on to our Xbox Live account, why don't we navigate down to the game that we currently have installed in our Xbox console. It's Halo 3. So let's just skip over, Start Solo Game because we are looking to play with other people and let's move down to Matchmaking. So hit the A, green A Select button. Now we are in the Matchmaking Lobby. Matchmaking Lobby utilizes Microsoft's Xbox Live unique system, it's called True Skill and what it does is matches you up automatically with other players who are logged into the service who have the same skill level and the same interest level that you have in the games.

So you are a complete beginner, it makes sure that you get matched up against somebody who is a professional gamer, who has been playing the game for two or three years nonstop, five hours a day. As you can see Xbox Live is automatically going through, finding players that match up with my skill level and my desired recreation level. OmegaZon Junkhead 69, Orgo2go.

So in a second we are going to jump into a game which is slayer which means basically every man for himself kill or be killed. So now that we know how to do multi-player gaming on Xbox Live, let's take a look at some of the other unique features in this online service.
